★Mascot Profile art is by the wonderful Hanmonster
The flowy skull-faced ghost branded on everything is the coyote ghost, Charulata. She is not a fursona, but a stand-alone personal character who also acts as my mascot for my creative functions. Originally created in around 2008 when I was still a teen, she was based on my second ever skull (of the same name) to add to my collection after I just got into taxidermy. A strikingly large coywolf with a chipped canine tooth I got from a local taxidermist. Almost immediately this skull affected me- I created the character as soon as I got home from the purchase. After obtaining her, my very sudden interest in coyotes blossomed and I started having dreams about both coyotes in general and very specifically, Charulata herself. Eventually, my friends even started having their dreams affected by her. One friend theorized that the ghost of the animal was using the imagery I created to act as an avatar to better communicate through dreams. Whether or not such paranormal things happened, she's had a hell of an affect on me and continues to influence my art. As a practicing witch, her spirit is intensely close to me- she is a personal character, a muse, and a dear friend on the other side all in one. The physical skull will likely never leave my hands and the vision of Charu has become an extremely personal entity to me. She focuses around death, coyotes, bones, magic, and creativity- all apart of my being and thus fitting for a mascot. If you'd like to know more about Charu please see her profile on Toyhouse! |
