Because of Patreon, the store, and original work being Lydia’s priority, commissions are only taken occasionally through an inquiry pool and selected based on what’s most appealing.

Here’s the run down on how commissions work with Lydz…

Media

The majority of pieces are sketched digitally, inked with traditional dip pens & india ink on bristol or watercolor board, and colorized digitally.

Lydia can also create images with transparent backgrounds, if necessary for the project in mind.

Payment

Prices vary heavily depending on what is asked- common commission types with their usual ballpark prices are listed below. Please feel free to reach out for a quote if you want to plan for a future commission!

P@ypal and Stripe are both accepted payment methods. All pieces under $150 must be paid for up front.

Traditional lines can be shipped for a packaging fee of $4 US domestic and $14 International. All pieces are shipped in recycled plastic sleeves and paper backing boards to help keep them safe during transit.

Turnaround

Turnaround time varies depending on what is asked. Most common turnaround is 4 to 5 weeks from payment, though simpler compositions like headshots or uncolored sketches are usually completed much sooner than that. This turnaround time is based on how Lydia also has to organize other projects and is on a schedule- please understand that though they’re taken seriously, commissions are side projects.

If you want an environmental commission to have guaranteed completion within short notice, a fee is required. +50% of the quoted price for completion within 3 weeks, 80% within 1.5 weeks.

Legal & Service Nutshell

  • Sometimes life throws a curveball. Lydia tends to have health issues now and again, and sometimes a new life or work event happens that requires immediate attention. In these scenarios, communication will be upheld and if it comes down to Lydia needing to cancel your piece, you will always receive a 100% refund.

  • The client’s personal information such as legal name and shipping address will always remain private.

  • All purchases are final.

  • Customers must be 18 years or older to order.

  • Customers who behave in an inappropriate fashion toward Lydia or are otherwise extremely difficult to work with may have their order cancelled, refunded, and placed on a blacklist.

  • Likewise, customers who lie about their age, try to commission subjects in a dishonest fashion (such as but not limited to: political ideologies, using someone else’s personal character without permission) may have their order cancelled, refunded, and placed on a blacklist.

COPYRIGHT NOTICE

Though the copyright of the character(s) present may belong to the client, the artwork that is resultant of service is copyrighted to Coyoteprince LLC/Lydia Collins and may be used for promotional, marketing, and commerce as per US Copyright law.

To put it in common speak, the finished commission legally belongs to Lydia/Coyoteprince and may be used to help promote their own work, as well as sold as prints. However, in the case of prints, it is recognized that not everyone is keen on that. Out of understanding and courtesy, if Lydia feels a particular commissioned piece of a personal character would make a good print, the client will always be asked for permission first. On the other hand, fee-range commissions based on loose concepts, public domain characters, or Lydia’s own creations will forgo this permission.

Additionally, despite the copyright belonging to Coyoteprince LLC, Lydia automatically gives their clients permission to post and use their commission as long as it remains aspersonal use. This includes: Using the art as an icon, editing the image into a reference sheet, posting the image to social media and character pages, and printing the image on stickers, mugs, art prints, and likewise. In common speak: as long as you’re not financially profiting off the image, you’re probably good to go!

  • EXAMPLES

SIMPLE & BUDGET-FRIENDLY

Pet portraits, chibis, ink sketches, and stand-alone characters offer options to those more on a budget. These generally have a much quicker turn-around time.

PORTRAITS & ENVIRONMENTAL

Something for those who want to go all-in and who enjoy my inking style, which is on full display with these types.

Depending on if you want uncolored lines, type of background, headshot vs waist-up vs full body, and overall complexity can drastically change the price. Don’t be afraid to ask- you always get a quote up front before you fully commit!

Below are examples with what their prices would be to give you an idea of what to expect.

SPONSORED ILLUSTRATION

Sponsored illustrations are paid requests to depict a loose theme given by the client- essentially, you’re financially supporting me to draw for myself! I have most of the control here & I retain the rights to the designs depicted. The client is sent the original lineart in the mail.

Most commonly clients ask to see my take on a specific monster and may give me a few design elements to include (ex: blackberry nymph). Feel free to request Widderwood, animals, or simple word prompts!

TATTOO

Lydia has plenty experience personalizing designs for others and makes sure you’ll get a say when it matters. Custom designs come with a higher fee due to a greater amount of back-and-forth and editing involved, but will ensure your tattoo is perfectly designed for the size and area you want it to be.

Tattoos tend to start around $100.
Size, detail, and color affect pricing.
