Store Info & FAQ

About The Store

✦✦✦

  • Coyoteprince is an online singular artist-owned store that specializes in short booklets, hand crafted monster soaps, and anything and everything that speaks to the creativity of Lydia Collins. Think of it almost like an alternative occult shop, but without any mass produced or appropriative items and made by only one person.

To keep passion, love, and quality in everything that pops into the store, the majority of items are individually handmade by Lydia, only created if Lydia has genuine interest in it, and with eco-friendly packaging in mind.

The Coyoteprince store has successfully shipped out over 1,000 orders to like-minded patrons, and I like to believe these strong principals have helped make that possible. Thank you!

  • “Coyoteprince” has been Lydia’s online artist name for over 10 years. Not the most conventional choice for a brand name, but we like to think it still reflects Lydia as an individual, as well as their past that’s shaped them: A creature seen through a length of judgement yet has gained an unusual flair of power.

Coyotes have been an important symbol of survival to Lydia since their childhood, the planchette in the logo is a reclamation of their spirituality & connection to death, and the stars & diamonds often used are personal symbols of magic.

  • Coyoteprince store, customer service, packaging fulfillment, etc is all run by Lydia theirself. Quite a lot of hats to wear!

Their house goblin sometimes helps fold zines and run orders off to the post office, though, which is always much appreciated.

  • All of Lydia's creations and store is made & run in their home studio, located in bee-utiful North Georgia, USA.

Please note this is a private residence that is not open for public visits. Store front is run solely online and at traveling events.

  • Coyoteprince LLC has become an officially approved donor to The Order Of The Good Death. Most who follow the art Lydia makes is well aware of death education being their life’s passion- now you can support an independent artist and a cause they cherish!

Many select items in the store will now have a portion of their profits be permanently donated to The Order Of The Good Death. There may be times when the chosen charity will be switched for a different entity (such as cemetery repair, funeral funds)- but there will always be a public notice given, and The Order shall remain our default choice.

To be perfectly clear, Coyoteprince LLC receives nothing in return for this donation. We have no say in what The Order does, nor do they advertise for us. We believe in death advocacy for all, and are thrilled to help challenge how we view end of life & grief.

Donations range from 6% to 25% and will be marked in simple dollar amounts in the listing of the chosen items. Funds will be donated in a lot at the end of each month the store is open and taking orders.

If you’d like to learn more about The Order and their mission, you can visit their website. [link]

  • Many items in the Coyoteprince store are of interest to historical, queer, and death industry circles. In particular, Lydia has been approached many times to have their zines purchased for public zine libraries and as gifts for funeral home employees.

Education & connecting with each other is gravely important to us- but if you’ve seen our work, you probably already knew that!

Lydia is willing to donate a small amount (max 3 copies of each title) of their art prints, zines, and similar for public reading collections, museum displays, and educational events such as lectures. Individuals must work on behalf of a historical/educational organization

  • Many (though not all) items in the Coyoteprince shop are available for wholesale to brick & mortar/online shops and party/company gifts. Discounts depend on specific items and amount desired.

Because nearly everything is handmade by one person, minimum orders are low and we have a limit to how much can be produced in a timely manner. If you’re a little business or organization that cares about supporting little local artists, we’ll be a great fit!

MINIMUM ORDER: 10 per title/design, except for soap. Soap minimum: 1 full loaf (17 bars)

DISCOUNTS: Ranging from 10% to 50%

TURN-AROUND: Depends on amount, item, and season (we have seasons where we’re much more busy). Ask for more info. For a ballpark idea: a 1 month turn-around could be around 300 foldy zines, 150 chapbooks, or 300 bookmarks. Most prints and stickers can be delivered in higher amounts quicker due to them being printed out-of-studio. Soap requires 3 months due to the need for curing and extra prep.

Email lydia@coyoteprince.com for questions & inquiries.

  • Nearly everything in the Coyoteprince store is individually handmade by Lydia theirself! That paired with things like high taxes & other business costs not immediately obvious to customers, results in prices that are higher than what you’d find at a mass-produced big box store. You’re paying for humanity, care, and quality- not fast, cheap trash.

Did you know that nearly 25% of every item sold has to go directly to taxes? And that doesn’t count website hosting, business licenses, transaction fees, and so on. Its a lot to swallow!

Profit margins for this store are fairly low. Lydia purposefully prices items to be as affordable to customers as is possible. Fellow weirdos deserve treats too!

  • Both the main store and digital stores accept P@ypal, Venmo, Stripe, and all major credit & debit cards.

  • Because of the handmade nature and only one person running everything, restocks are usually in very limited amounts.

We’re currently adjusting to the new website and experimenting with a new schedule. Once we figure out a good rhythm, this section will be updated with more concrete info!

  • The Coyoteprince store ships based on weight. Most items are of a negligible weight and ship for the lowest rate offered, but heavier items like ceramics and soap add up!

Lightest weight items: Prints, zines, stickers, books
    Heaviest items: Ceramic decor, soap

Heavier items will have an estimated weight in their listing so customers can be aware that the addition of said item may affect their shipping rate.

Please note that Coyoteprince LLC does not control shipping rates and there’s nothing we can do to lower them.

  • Every aspect of the Coyoteprince store is run by one person. That means merch creation, listings, marketing, packing, shipping, and customer service are all by the same two hands. You can't get more “direct from the source” of handmade than that!

With that in mind, please don't expect things typical of a big box store like 2 day shipping. You're paying for humanity and quality- have patience.

    DIGITAL

All digital downloads are sent automatically through a link in email.

    TYPICAL

Most orders are packed and shipped within a week of ordering. Items consisting of one or two smaller items (such as zines) often get shipped next-day.

    ORDER SURGES

Events like Mortals’ Market, new releases, or first day of store reopening often bring in a large influx of orders and as such cause a backlog. Expect 1 to 2 weeks before your order ships. If the Coyoteprince store is experiencing extensive backlog, public notices will be released.

    PREORDERS & MTOs

Items that are preorders or made-to-order will have info listed in their description of the expected shipping date. If the expected date changes due to unforseen issues (such as supply chain issues) a public notice with updated information will be posted. I try to be as transparent as possible with preorders so everyone can know what's happening during fulfillment!

  • Nearly all of our shipping supplies is made of recyclable and compostable paper, some of which is made of recycled material! Void fill is paper (tissue, kraft, or paper confetti), padded envelopes are paper with shredded paper padding making them 100% recyclable. Prints are shipped with sturdy backerboards, either in paper, glassine (recyclable), or recyclable clear bags made from 100% recycled material. Locking pin sets come in poly bags reused from enamel pin manufacturing. The packaging tape on boxes we use is made from eco-friendly kraft and is recyclable.

Candles, soap, relief prints, and more have paper labels printed & hand cut in-studio. The glue we use to adhere these labels is 100% natural rubber latex, NOT plastic!

We take packaging waste seriously and are always looking for new ways to be eco-concious in our shipping. Any plastic that pops up in an order has been reclaimed/reused.

Customer Service

✦✦✦

  • Damaged or missing items: Shoot Lydia an email at store@coyoteprince.com with your order name and number, along with photos if there’s damage. You can also find a contact form at the bottom of this page. We’ll discuss what went wrong and get you fixed up!

If we determine that the damage is the fault of the carrier, you’ll need to phone or visit your local USPS (don’t email- you likely won’t get a response) and explain that they have lost/damaged your package. Most of the parcels are sent through First Class Parcel which is insured for up to $50. In most cases, you should receive reimbursement from them.

If the customer made a mistake (giving a wrong address, for example) they will need to pay for a second round of shipping. In the case of buyer’s remorse, all sales are final. Issues that are the fault of the customer are not the liability of Coyoteprince LLC.

  • A customer account is not required to purchase from either of the stores, but is convenient if you prefer to keep an easy record of your past purchases.

You can sign up or log in to your customer account at the top right of the site.

  • All information given wth customer accounts and orders is kept private between the client and I.

Extra sensitive information like passwords and credit card information is automatically secured and cannot be seen or accessed by me.

Information like purchases, method of payment, and region are tracked to help me improve customer service as well as examine statistics to better the store itself.

Under no circumstances will your information be shared with third parties.

  • The entirety of Coyoteprince.com is intended for mature audiences. Customers of Coyoteprince.com must be of 18 years or older to purchase.

  • You can direct questions, comments, and concerns to store@coyoteprince.com, or scroll down to the bottom of this page for a contact form. Please include your order number if your inquiry involves a recent order you have made.

  • One person juggling so many things is often a lot, and so human errors occasionally happen. Contact store@coyoteprince.com or the contact form below with what’s missing or what you got that you shouldn’t have along with your order number.

 FAQs

✦✦✦

  • MTO / Made To Order

An item created after the purchase has been made to allow easier customization or save on physical stock space. Often has a lead time which varies, check description for further information.

OOAK / One Of A Kind

A singular one of a kind artwork. In the Coyoteprince store, this usually is applied to small sculptures that are recreated but have their own unique attributes from one another, making each one truly unique.

    Original

In the Coyoteprince store, this is usually applied to the original pieces of traditional paintings and illustration. Prints would be considered recreations of the original.

ACEO / Art Cards Editions and Originals

(AKA ATCs / Artist Trading Cards)

ACEOs have an interesting history! These are miniature art pieces- either the original or prints- at a specific size of 2.5” x 3.5”

    Preorder

Orders for something that will be shipped at a later time, often as part of a special deal. Shipping times vary (check the item’s description), but often ship 1 to 2 months later.

  • Me, myself, and I. Lydia is the only one making things, packaging them, organizing shipments, and packing orders. Quite a lot of hats to juggle, I know.

  • Yes to both!

Though, please be aware that shipping heavier items like soap as well as ceramics has a very high shipping cost- often ranging around $40 to $80 depending- which is completely out of my control.

  • Some MTO customs may show up in the store from time to time. Otherwise, not at this time.

  • Lydia is always striving to reduce their environmental impact!

Nearly all packaging is made from recycled paper- such as business cards, bags, boxes, envelopes, and even a 100% paper alternative to bubble wrap. Protective bags that prints are placed in are either made from recycled material or are made of plant based PLA, making them recyclable and compostable. The small poly bags that locking pin backs come in are reused from past enamel pin orders.

I try to reduce excess waste and packaging wherever possible, and I always have my eyes peeled for new ways to be more environmentally-minded! I encourage all customers to reuse what packaging materials they get.

  • Only if I can catch it in time! No guarantees!

I try to be courteous with this, but please know this is a bit of a hassle on my end, especially the more people do it in a row.

  • There are two stores for both my own and the customers convenience! Digital downloads are completely automated due to their nature. Meanwhile, the main store requires stocking & shipping from me, and as such often has to be closed for long periods of the year. It made sense to separate them so people can always access the digital versions while they wait for more physical stock to be made. : )

  • The numbers are the recognition & organization system to make it quicker and easier to track down each design in the studio.

Print designs are now under themed listings because it makes it much, much easier to update & edit stock! With a one man affair, you gotta cut time where you can.
